Are you Vine-ing yet? If you can avoid the porn (don't worry office dwellers, it's a link to NPR), Twitter's latest foray into social video is actually pretty cool. Users are sharing 6-second looping videos of anything and everything, just like Instagram, with a wide range of really creative mini movies. If you want to capture the best Vine video, you'll need a tripod mount like this one.
Whitney of Mint Gypsy decided that she needed to step up her iPhoneography game now that she's joined Vine. Instead of shelling out dough for an iPhone tripod, she made one. Using tape, a rubber band, a piece of grippy non-skid drawer liner and a divider from her iPhone's old packaging, she rigged together this iPhone tripod mount.
The new mount grips onto Whitney's existing tripod with the aforementioned rubberband, allowing Whitney to keep her iPhone in one place while she films videos for Vine. While it won't win any awards for looks, it gets the job done, and she can now shoot short stop-motion movies with the best of 'em.
Check out Mint Gypsy for a full tutorial on how to turn your iPhone's packaging into a DIY tripod adapter.
